The district administration in Indore has begun the process of granting land ownership rights to residents of 29 villages that were recently included within the municipal corporation limits. Residents who currently occupy residential land, or their heirs/transferees without a lease, are eligible to apply for a lease under land holding rights. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav recently directed this initiative during a meeting in Indore. Many landowners in these villages face challenges in selling their properties or obtaining loans for construction due to the lack of proper documentation. To address this issue, individuals can now apply for land holding rights as per the circular issued by the Revenue Department. Those granted a lease will have the right to the land for 30 years, enabling them to easily access loans and transfer or sell the property. Camps will be held at tehsil offices on September 29, 2024, in several locations to receive applications. Eligible beneficiaries will be issued leases after proper verification. Online applications for leases will be accepted during the camps, and applicants must provide essential documents such as utility bills, government office correspondences, property tax receipts, and voter list information among others.
